Stefano Ricci began in Florence in 1972, when Stefano and his wife, Claudia, set out to make the finest silk neckties in Italy. The ties came first. Shirts, tailoring and leather goods followed, all built on the same idea: rich materials, finished by hand.
The house still works from its headquarters in Fiesole, in the hills above Florence. It owns the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, a historic Florentine silk mill, so much of the silk it uses is woven close to home, on looms that have run for generations.
Stefano Ricci is still a family company. Stefano designs, his son Niccolò runs the business as CEO, and his son Filippo leads the creative side. The Royal Eagle, the house emblem since 2005, marks every piece.
