Santaniello has made trousers in the tailoring tradition of Campania since 1968, and Damiani Miami carries its chinos and wool drawstring pants. It began in Salerno, where Biagio Santaniello, a tailor, and Carmela Forino, a trouser maker, opened an artisan workshop making trousers and jackets to measure for local clients.
Their values were simple: attention to detail, a meticulous fit and solid construction. In 1991 their children, Antonio, Giuliana and Carmine, turned the workshop into a company and launched its first full collection, keeping artisanal quality on a larger scale.
Today Antonio is creative director. He studies the company's archive to reinterpret patterns, cuts and constructions from the past with contemporary fabrics, and production remains in Campania.
