A Family Workshop Since 1975
Paolo Albizzati has made ties and accessories since 1975, and Damiani Miami carries its ties and pocket squares. The family-run factory is in Malnate, in the province of Varese, not far from Como, the heart of Italy's silk industry.
It is still a family business, led by Paolo, his wife Valeria and their son Fabio, with a simple rule: "In our family we traditionally prefer quality over quantity." Many of the artisans have worked there since they were 16.
Each tie is cut from natural fabrics like silk, cashmere, wool and linen, and its three pieces, the blade, the neck and the tail, are sewn together. When a tie has no tipping, its edges are rolled by hand, and the pocket squares are hand-rolled too.
