From Silvi Marina Since 1967
Italo Ferretti has made handmade ties and silk accessories since 1967, and Damiani Miami carries its silk accessories. The company is based in Silvi Marina, the small seaside town in Abruzzo where Italo Ferretti was born.
In the early 1960s he moved to Milan, saw the huge demand for ties and began distributing them from Como to central Italy. True success came in the early 1970s with a decades-long collaboration with Brioni, for whom he created, produced and distributed silk neckties and accessories. From there the brand grew in Canada and the United States, where it still has many of its most loyal clients.
Every piece is still designed and made by hand in Silvi Marina, and several of Italo Ferretti's patented inventions remain in use in the ties today. Since 2019 the company has been led by his eldest son, Carlo, with his brothers Federico and Giacomo.
