Doucal's makes men's shoes in Montegranaro, a town at the heart of the shoemaking district of Italy's Marche region, and Damiani Miami carries them. Mario Giannini founded the artisan workshop Ducale there in 1968.
A study trip to Northampton, the home of English shoemaking, inspired the Doucal's brand in 1973, blending Anglo-Saxon style with deeply Italian elegance. Under Gianni and Jerry Giannini, the second generation, Doucal's grew into an established brand.
The family has dedicated a wing of its headquarters to a museum archive of more than 3,000 pieces, one of the few in Italy devoted entirely to contemporary men's fashion. The Mario loafer is one of the house's highlights.
