Eton: The One Shirt Brand in Our Shop That Isn't Italian

Most of what we carry at Damiani traces back to Italy — Zegna, Cesare Attolini, Barmas. Eton is the exception, and it's worth knowing why we make room for it anyway: it's been made in Sweden since 1928, and the Swedish approach to shirtmaking solves a different problem than the Italian brands do. Where Italian tailoring is built around drape and softness, Eton is built around structure that survives a full day without losing its shape — collars that hold, cuffs that don't fray, a crispness that doesn't collapse by 3pm.

Which Eton Fit Is Actually Right for You

Eton comes in three cuts, and picking the wrong one is the most common mistake we see:

• Slim Fit — cut close through the body. Best if you're already wearing a slim-fit suit jacket and don't want extra fabric bunching under it.
• Contemporary Fit — the middle ground, and what we put most first-time Eton customers in. Room to move without looking boxy.
• Classic Fit — fuller through the chest and waist. The right call if you're broader-built or simply prefer a shirt that doesn't feel fitted at all.

The Fabric That Matters Most in Miami

Eton's wrinkle-resistant performance fabric is the one worth asking for specifically if you're buying for South Florida. It's the difference between a shirt that looks slept-in by the time you park the car and one that still looks pressed after a humid walk from the lot. We mostly carry the contemporary fit because it fits the most clients and we have complementary alterations. If our clients find themselves preferring another fit like slim or classic, we can easily order it for them. 

What to Expect on Fit

Eton runs true to size, which matters if you're used to sizing for Italian shirt brands — the block is cut differently. Most eton shirts are fit off a S/M/L/XL/XXL body with only changes to the neck. For example: a 16 and 16.5 both fit the same in the body and arms with the only difference being the collar. This makes it very universal and easy.
