At Damiani in Miami, made-to-measure suits start at $1,200 in Italian fabric, with tailoring included. Finer cloth and full-canvas construction run about $1,795 to $2,000. Zegna made-to-measure starts at $5,200, and Cesare Attolini at $10,000. Three things set the price: the fabric, the construction and the maker.
What You Get at Each Price
A suit made to your measurements in Italian fabric, with your choice of lapels, buttons and lining.
Finer cloth, such as Vitale Barberis Canonico Super 150s, with full-canvas construction.
Ermenegildo Zegna made-to-measure: the house's own cloth, patterns and finishing.
Cesare Attolini made-to-measure, cut and sewn largely by hand in Naples.
Custom tuxedos follow the same pricing, from $1,200. In-house tailoring is included at every level.
The Three Things That Set the Price

The fabric
The mill, the fiber and how finely it's spun. A higher Super number means a finer wool, softer and lighter, but also more delicate.
The construction
How the jacket is built inside. A full-canvas jacket shapes to you over time and costs more to make than a fused or half-canvas one.
The maker
Who cuts and sews it, and how much is done by hand. A Neapolitan house like Attolini puts many hours of handwork into every jacket.
“I don't believe in misleading a client into spending more because he thinks it's worth more. That's wrong. There should always be a relationship between price and value.”
Daniella, Damiani
Our Standard for Quality
Suits are made all over the world, at every price. At Damiani, we hold a minimum standard for quality. We work only with makers who lead their field and offer the best value at their price, so every step up in price brings a real step up in cloth or make.
It also means the most expensive suit isn't always the right one. We'll tell you when a $1,200 suit is the better choice for how you'll wear it.
Off-the-Rack, Made-to-Measure or Bespoke?
| Off-the-rack | Made-to-measure | Bespoke | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it's made | Standard sizes, then altered | A proven pattern adjusted to your measurements | A new pattern drafted from scratch |
| Time | Days | Usually 4–6 weeks | Several months |
| At Damiani | Italian ready-to-wear, tailored in-house | From $1,200 | Not offered |
For most men, made-to-measure gives the fit and choice of a custom suit without the months of bespoke. See how our made-to-measure process works.
What's Included
A one-on-one consultation, your measurements (saved for next time), usually two fittings and our in-house tailoring. Need it sooner? Rush orders take 2–3 weeks on select fabrics and makes, for an additional fee.
“Tailoring is always included. Our job is to get it right.”
Daniella, Damiani

Is a Custom Suit Worth It?
If you wear a suit often, if standard sizes never quite fit, or if the occasion matters, such as a wedding or a black-tie event, made-to-measure pays for itself in fit and wear. If you need one suit for occasional use and fit off the rack well, a ready-to-wear suit tailored in-house may be the smarter buy. We carry both, so we'll help you choose honestly.
